Former Kenya Cup side suspends nine players for 'defiance'

Former Kenya Cup side Mombasa RFC has suspended nine players including their Captain over claims of defying management orders.
Captain Ezra Mulusa and Gideon Mogeni were stripped off their nominated membership status of the rugby section at Mombasa Sports Club.
The players mostly students from the Technical University of Mombasa defied orders by the club not to participate in the ongoing varsity league.
They were named in TUM Marines matchday squad and feature in the Varsity League opener as their side went on to lose 12-11 to Egerton Wasps in a match played at UoN Grounds on Saturday 29 September
The nine will not be considered by head coach Lewis Olaka in preparations for the new season as well as the KRU Championship season.
The side will be hunting for a return to Kenya Cup after being relegated at the start of the 2017/18 season.
