Ambaka hungry for 2019 World Cup

Kenya Simbas winger Willy Ambaka has expressed the desire to aid the team to a first ever World Cup when the global Repechage tournament kicks off in November.
Ambaka, a mainstay in the Kenya 7s team made his national 15s debut in Simbas’ penultimate Africa Gold Cup match against Tunisia, a match which he scored twice.
According to Ambaka, getting to the global showpiece will be beneficial, especially to the rookies and budding talents.
“Everyone wants to play in the World Cup.As for me, iam thinking about the young guys coming up.Our participation in the World Cup could change everyone’s perception about Kenyan Rugby,” the Kenya Harlequins man told world rugby.
At the Repechage tournament that will be hosted in Marseille,France, Simbas will come up against Canada,Hong  Kong and Germany for the remaining ticket to Japan.


The tournament will be played in a round-robin format with the team that accumulates more points earning the chance to face New Zealand,South Africa,Italy and Namibia at the World Cup.
Kenya was relegated to the Repechage after a 53-28 loss to Namibia saw them finish second in the 2018 Africa Gold Cup.
