Kenya Simbas halfback talks up on World Cup chances

Kenya Simbas failed to secure the direct qualification ticket to the 2019 Rugby World Cup after losing to their African compatriots, Namibia 28-53 in the last Africa Gold Cup match in which Namibia secured a direct ticket to Japan 2019.
However, the Simbas have a second and last chance to qualify through a four team global Repechage to be held at Stade Delort in Marseille, France.
Final place
Four nations will be fighting it out to secure the 20th and final place at the RWC where the winner will be slotted into Pool B that has defending Champions New Zealand , South Africa, Italy and Namibia.
Simbas halfback Sam Onsumu believes that the side has a greater chance of making it to the first ever World Cup if they all stay committed and if they work hard.
“We want to qualify for the Rugby World Cup and we know what it takes to get there. It’s all about the commitment, hard work and keeping the past to the past,” Onsumu told World Rugby.
Kenya, Hong Kong, Germany and Canada will compete in the round robin format to be played across three match days on Sunday 11 , Saturday 17 and Friday 23 November 2018.
