Kenya 7s star Oliech reveals why he missed 7s Circuit

Impala Saracens fly half Sammy Oliech has been absent in National 7s Circuit and has revealed that he did not feature due to an injury picked in the World 7s Series.
Most clubs recalled the National team players during the third leg of the Circuit but Oliech stayed out of the final three legs. Oliech says that he was undergoing rehabilitation during the period and has also been with his training with his Impala teammates in the gym and on the pitch to keep fit.
Honing
Despite missing the circuit he says he has been honing his skills in readiness for the new world series acknowledging that it needs one to be on top of his game to perform.
“I came out of the 2017-18 HSBC sevens series with an injury. The period between then and now has been filled with rehab sessions. I have been working very hard in the gym and on the pitch with my Impala teammates. I have not yet tested to prove match fitness, but if the test were done today, I would tick all boxes.” he told Impala official portal.

“Playing at the World Rugby 7s Series Level requires one to always innovate and be on top of their game & that’s the reason why I have taken up self-initiative to perfect my kicking and sharpen my playmaking skills,” he added.
Oliech is part of the Kenya 7s provisional squad undergoing trials ahead of the New season.
