Northern Suburbs,an affiliate of KCB rugby club, was named the most promising side in the just concluded 7s circuit.
Scrummage caught up with their National 7s Circuit skipper,Brian Omondi, and he had alot of interesting insights to share.
He heaped alot of praise on Head coach Simon Jawichre, whom he said deviced a very tactical way of executing game plans.
“Training hard and excecuting game plans that we were being showed by our head coach Simon Jawichre and also doing the extras was the secret behind our performance against the big boys,” Omondi revealed.
Next on the list he appreciated his teammates willingness to learn as well as the extra work they all put in.
“The boys put a lot of effort before and during the season and we really felt good (after being named the most promising side) because we have sacrificed alot to be where we are. It only shows hardwork never goes unrewarded” he added
Omondi has termed the 7s Circuit as a learning experience for them as they managed to polish on their gameplan as well as acquire new skills.
“We learnt alot of things like new game plays and also got experience from playing the big guys at a young age since suburbs cubs is comprised of young guys,” he concluded.
