Uganda names squad for Christie duty

Uganda Emerging 7s squad has been named ahead of their trip to Kenya where they are expected to take part in the final leg of the National 7s Circuit, Christie 7s set for Saturday and Sunday at RFUEA Grounds.
The team will be lead by Uganda 7s coach Tolbert Onyango who will be assisted by Edgar Lemerigar. Pirates star Timothy Kisiga has been handed the captaincy role in the squad which is a combination of players from Black Pirates, Rhino, Kobs, Mongers, Buffaloes, Hippos, and Walubuka.
Pirates
Kisiga is joined by teammates, Isaac Newton, Haruna Mohammed while Buffaloes have Alul Stephen, innocent Gwokto , Ian Muyani and Levis Ocen.

The Emerging Uganda 7s team is a feeder side to the main Uganda sevens team. Uganda got its first ever back to back Rugby Africa 7’s titles in the 2016 & 2017. The idea of the emerging side stemmed from the need to ensure a contingency squad and succession plan was muted by coach Tolbert Onyango.

They will arrive in the country at 11 am on Friday. They will have a light training session at the RFUEA Grounds from 5 pm and depart for Kampala on Monday at 11 am. The side is pooled alongside Impala, Kenya Harlequins, and Northen Suburb
