Mwamba RFC beat Dala 7s holders Homeboyz RFC 17-0 in a Main Cup finals staged at Mamboleo Grounds in Kisumu County on Sunday evening, to lift trophy.
This was the third main cup final meeting this season between Homeboyz and Mwamba RFC. The last two had been won by Homeboyz (Prinsloo 7s and Sepetuka).
Mwamba who were seeking to avoid another final defeat to Homeboyz started off well scoring through Daniel Taabu but he failed to add a conversion to his try. The side stood tall and guarded the slim lead till halftime break whistle.

Gregory Odhiambo efforts to add the second try were cut off but Collins Injera ensured they doubled the lead from a penalty. Once again Kulabu failed to add the extras. Homeboyz were reduced to six men after a yellow card to Mark Wandeto.
Eliakim Kichoi would seal Mwamba’s victory by scoring the third that was converted for a 17-0 win. The win marks Mwamba’s first main cup win this season.
Strathmore Leos are back to the top tier after beating Mbale RFC in Division two finals. The Students dropped to the second tier after being relegated in Mombasa.

KCB were denied the chance to win the bronze for the fourth time after a 12-7 loss to Impala Saracens. Jeff Okwach was sent to the bin as well Brian Omondi in the opening half. Impala had scored early through Sam Motari after he was set up by Billy Omondi.
KCB leveled the scores through Shaban Ahmed’s converted try. In the final half, Motari added the second try while KCB’s chase continued to be marred with indiscipline that saw them reduced to six men again. Impala went on to win the clash 12-7.
Nondies finish fifth
In the fifth-place finals. Nondies beat Kenya Harlequins 22-7. Benjamin Marshal scored the opening try which was converted for a 7-0 lead.
Dennis Oscar crossed over for the second try. Eden Agero scored for Quins and the try was converted by Aaron Orifyrworth. Nondies added the third try before the break. Quins effort to come back in the game suffered a blow after Max Theiru was sent off. Nondies went on to finish third.

Mean Machine walked away for the competition with Challenge trophy after beating Nakuru based side Oilers 19-14. MMUST won the 13th place final after beating BlaK Blad 19-12.
