KRU keen to secure Namibia, Blue Bulls friendlies for Kenya Simbas

Kenya Rugby Union is keen to secure several friendly matches for Kenya Simbas as they prepare for the Repechage tournament set for France in November 2018, with Namibia, Spain, Portugal on their wish list.
After the Namibia loss, Kenya Simbas head coach Ian Snook lamented of lack of proper preparations and lack of build up matches. He urged the Union work on friendlies before Repechage. KRU Director Thomas Odundo says they are plans underway to ensure the team plays several high profile friendlies.
Odundo has revealed that they are seeking to play South African Outfits Western Province or Blue Bulls, Namibia and Spain or Portugal.
“We’re looking at fixtures against a team from either Western Province or Blue Bulls. We’ve also asked World Rugby if they can bring Namibia for a match or two. We also hope to head to France early for the repechage and play a match against either Spain or Portugal.” Odundo told KRU official portal
The repechage tournament in Marseille will see Simbas face Canada, Germany and Hong Kong with the winner of this round robin competition earning a ticket to the tournament’s Pool B where they will face New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, and Namibia.
