Mwamba lost to Nakuru RFC 12-7 in a tight final and ended finishing second. Commenting on the Driftwood 7s performance, Ocholla picked Injera for praises.
“I would like to commend Collins Injera who became the Most Valuable Player in this tournament for his impressive display. He is somebody¬† who is always Phenomenal when it comes to the game of 7s,” Ocholla told Scrummage.
Driftwood 7s was Injera’s second appearance in the National 7s Series. His first appearance was in Mwamba’s home tournament Kabeberi 7s. His side finished fifth after a win over Kabras RFC in the fifth-place finals of the tournament staged at Machakos Stadium.
He missed the first two legs due to a National Team assignment at the 2018 7s World Cup hosted in San Francisco. He made history by becoming the first ever Kenyan to make three straight appearances in the 7s World Cup.
