KRU hunting for a new Kenya 7s coaching staff

Kenya Rugby Union has launched the hunt for a new technical bench and has advertised jobs for the head coach,  Strength & Conditioning Coach, Physio, Team Manager.
The team has been under the tutelage of Innocent Simuyu who had Will Webster as his assistant while Eric Ogweno, Geoffrey Kimani, Lameck Bogonko served as Team manager, Strength and Condition and physio respectively.
Simiyu’s contract is set to end in October and Scrummage understands he has been dismissed. Simiyu took over the Kenya 7s job in 2016, after the dismissal of Benjamin Ayimba who had led the side to a Singapore 7s main Cup triumph in the 2015/16  season.
The former Kenya 7s and 15s star was in charge during the World 7s Series, where Kenya managed two main cup appearance and the side amassed a record of 101 points. He also led the 7s team in Commonwealth but was dismissed after the team blacked out sponsors Brand Kenya in the final legs of the Series.
Simiyu was reinstated after Sports CS Rashid Achesa intervention and led the side in the 7s World cup.
