Kenya 7s head coach Innocent Simiyu has confirmed that the Kenya Rugby Union sent them termination letters.
Simiyu confirmed receiving a termination via his twitter account while replying to a question by former Kenya 7s coach Mike Friday, who wanted to know if he had resigned.
The Union advertised the Kenya 7s positions of Head coach,Strength & Conditioning Coach, Physio, Team Manager.
Hi Mike, I did not . They sent us termination notices that KRU is having financial challenges.

Simiyu a former Kenyan 7s and 15s player took over Shujaa in 0ctober 2016 replacing Benjamin Ayimba.
He has been incharge of the side for last two season leading them to register the highest point tally (104 points).
He started his first season rather on a slow start managing to finish at position 12 with 68 points just 3 positions up shy of relegation.The best performance in his first year was in Cape Town where he got 12 points with the lowest being 1 in Paris.
It was in his second season in charge that the 35 year old had mastered the art.The grass started to be greener in November 2017 when Kenya 7s beat South Africa 19-12 in Cup final to be crowned Safland 7s champions.
In 2017/2018 season,he led Kenya to an eighth position having garnered a total of 104 points.He has managed to reach 7 cup quarterfinals. Simiyu picked 10 in Dubai,3 in Cape Town,10 in Hamilton, 12 in Sydney, 10 in Las Vegas,19 on both Canada and Hong Kong,the first time in history making back to back cup final appearance.His lowest was in Paris and Cape Town where he managed only 3 in each.
