KCB, Nakuru face off in Driftwood 7s semis; Kabras eliminated

KCB RFC and Nakuru will battle for a place in the Driftwood 7s final after winning their respective quarterfinal clashes.
The first semi final will see Drifwood holders Homeboyz tackle Mwamba RFC in the first semifinal
To reach the finals Ahmed Shaban bagged a brace while Vincent Onjala scored the third try. Jeff Okwach two conversions gave the side a 19-0 lead. Nondies scored twice in the second half for  19-10 loss
Nakuru derby
Nakuru proved to be better than their neighbours Oilers, picking a 26-7 win. Geff Ominde and Cassius Omollo scored in the opening half with Donald Olouch conversion sending them 21 points up. Derrick Ayange scored Oilers consolation in the first half.
In the final half, Gramwel Bunyasi landed Nakuru’ s final try for a 26-7 victory.
Homeboyz through
Homeboyz are in the course of the defending the Driftwood 7s title after brushing aside kisii RFC 29-7. Three tries in opening half and two more in closing half were enough for Paul Murunga’ side.
In the second quarterfinal, Mwamba needed sudden death to beat Kabras 12-7. The  Kulabu led courtesy of Kenyan International Collins Injera and Daniel Taabu converted to lead 7-0. Kabras RFC equalized following Dominic Osino’ try with Fijian fly half Jone Kubu converting.
Taabu would deny Kabras a Semi final spot by scoring in the sudden death.
Relegated
MMUST, Strathmore  Leos  and Makueni have been relegated after suffering defeats in their respective Challenge trophy quarters.
