MMUST eye consistency ahead of Kabeberi 7s

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) coach Ochieng’ Ahaya hopes that his young charges will be consistent in their perfomance ahead of this weekend’s Kabeberi 7s tournament in Machakos.
The Kakamega outfit was the surprise package at the second round,Sepetuka 7s in Eldoret where they reached cup quarter finals but narrowly lost to losing finalists Mwamba. They would eventually settle for 6th position, accumulating 12 points in the process.
“We might do better at Kabeberi even though sevens rugby can be unpredictable at times.Iam hoping that we can maintain our consistency,” Ahaya said.
“We are very keen on the National Sevens Circuit. It is clearly a tough tournament from what we have seen and we shall prepare for Kabeberi adequately.”
The KRU Championship side has been boosted by the return of dependable duo of Kevin Abuga and Ian Mukanzi who sustained injuries in Eldoret. The two were missing as the side settled for fourth position during the KUSA 7s season finale at the University of Nairobi two weeks ago.
At Kabeberi,MMUST is drawn in pool C where they will face KCB,Kenya Harlequins and Kisii RFC.
