Ambaka's perfomance on Kenya 15s debut hailed

Kenya Simbas head coach Ian Snook praised winger Willy Ambaka’s showing in Saturday’s 67-0 thrashing of Tunisia in an Africa Gold Cup duel staged in Nairobi.
The Kenya Harlequins man who is a mainstay in the Kenya 7s squad marked his 15s debut with a brace against the North Africans with Snook labelling him as talented.
“Ambaka had a really good game. Managing to score twice as you saw it was a good afternoon. He is getting better and better and he is obviously talented,” Snook remarked.
The New Zealander further admitted that despite bagging the huge win ,the side was not at its best and they will rectify on their undoings ahead of a crunch fixture away to Namibia.
“There were still a few disappointing things but we will see and fix that next week.”
Snook reiterated his desire to lead the side to a historic 15s World Cup by winning the Africa Gold Cup and heading to Japan as African champions .
“We would love to qualify directly to Japan and that’s the goal, to beat Namibia. There is however a second chance of repechage but there is a big week ahead of us.”
Simbas currently occupy second position on the log, three points adrift leaders Namibia ,a side they face on 18 August for a place in pool B of next year’s World Cup .
Africa Gold Cup winners book automatic qualification to the global showpiece where they will slot in a pool B that also has South Africa, New Zealand,Italy and Repechage winners.
The second ranked side heads to a four-team Repechage tournament scheduled for November 2018 in Marseille, France where a final berth is up for grabs against Hong Kong, Canada and Germany.
