Africa Gold Cup: Uganda edge Morocco for second win

Uganda Rugby Cranes bagged their second Africa Gold Cup win after overcoming Morocco 47-29 in Kampala on Saturday 11 August 2018.
Uganda took a 30-7 lead to half-time after Pius Ogena, Michael Wokorach and Ivan Magomu crossed the chalk for three converted tries as Philip Wokorach booted three penalties.


Azelmad crossed the whitewash for Morocco’s solitary try in the first half.
Morocco reduced the deficit in the second half,scoring three tries and one conversion while Uganda responded by striking their fourth penalty of the match and a converted try by Ogena;his second of the clash.


Solomon Okia would compound to the North Africans’ miseries with yet another converted try for the hosts as they held on to seal the win.
Uganda’s final fixture of the campaign is at home against Zimbabwe Sables on 18 August 2018 while Morocco will be involved in a North African Derby against Tunisia.
