Gold Cup: Mugerwa optimistic as Uganda seek to avoid relegation

Uganda Rugby Cranes skipper Asuman Mugerwa is confident that the side will bag its first Africa Gold Cup win when they host Tunisia at the Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday 4 August 2018.
The John Duncan coached side occupies the basement of the Africa Gold Cup log after back to back losses to Namibia and Kenya and nothing short of a win against the North Africans could see them risk playing in the Africa Silver Cup next season.
“It has been long since our fans saw Uganda winning. We are home. This is our chance to show that we are going to do our best to make sure we put a smile on our fans’ faces,” the burly prop is quoted by URU.
In a separate interview with Ugandan newspaper Daily Monitor, the Kabras Sugar man said: ““It’s true we have not had the start we hoped for but it’s not time to put our heads down. We have to show up for the next games and get something out of them.”
With their World Cup qualifications ambition all but gone ,Uganda will welcome Morocco and Zimbabwe after Saturday’s duel.
