USIU fly-half ruled out till 2019

USIU Martials fly-half Charles Kuka has been sidelined for the remainder of the year following surgery that was necessitated by a meniscus tear.
According to USIU coach Dennis Mwanja, the Kakamega High School alumnus underwent surgery in April 2018 and he has since resumed light training but will not be involved until early 2019.
“Kuka had a meniscus tear so he went for surgery;he was operated on around April and we expect him back next year.He is now jogging a bit since he is  on rehabilitation,” Mwanja told Scrummage.
For rugby players, a   meniscus tear may occur during activities that put pressure on the knee joint especially during hard tackles.
The former Mwamba Rugby Club man is consequently ruled out of the ongoing National Sevens Circuit. He will also miss the start of the 2018/19 KRU Championship which gets underway in November.
