Laiser crowned champs after win over Vihiga based side Chavakali

Laiser Hill have won the National School 7s title after a 26-5 win over Chavakali in the finals played in Eldoret on Friday.
Three converted tries and one unconverted one was what Laiser needed to defeat the Western Region Champions. En route to the finals, Laiser topped pool A after a win over Kipsombe, a 14-14 draw with Maseno and another draw with Muhuri Muchiri.
On day two, Kevin Wambua charges eliminated Muvuti after a 19-0 in the quarters, beat St Peters 26-0 to book a final slot. For Chavakali, the opening day was fantastic as they managed big wins against Karima, Kaya Tiwi and Muvuti. They managed 129 points and did not concede.
In the quarters they saw off Muhuri following a 17-14 win. They had to toil in the semis after a 7-7 draw with Dagoretti and a toss of a coin saw them reach the final.
Western Region representatives St Peters booked a place in the East African games set for August 2018 after 24-7 win. Libondo Shimenga charges scored four tries with two being converted while Dagoreti managed just one converted try in the game.
