Player watch: Oscar Ayodi to make RWC 7s debut as captain

Oscar Ayodi will make his Sevens World Cup debut in San Fransisco,USA on the  weekend of 20-22 July 2018 and this presents him with an opportunity to skipper the side at the World’s biggest Sevens tournament.
Ayodi was appointed as Kenya 7s skipper for the remainder of the campaign in January 2018,taking over the reins from long serving skipper Andrew Amonde.

Standing at 1.82 meters with weight of 88kg,the Vihiga High School old boy has played 147 World Sevens Series matches scoring 38 tries which translate to 190 points,averaging 1.29 points per game.He has been sent to the bin only once.
The 28 year old Menengai Cream Homeboyz utility back was part of the  Kenyan team that competed at the 2016 Olympics held in Brazil.He also enjoyed cup success with the side during the same year,aiding them to historic glory in Singapore.
Ayodi’s stellar display in Singapore two years ago earned him the DHL Impact Player gong,an award which he shared with Fijian Taliga Kitione.
Speedy on the wing and devastating with ball in hand,he is expected to play a crucial role in Shujaa’s quest for the prestigious Melrose Cup.
