Elgon Cup: Kenya Simbas skipper lauds Uganda's second half resilience

Kenya Simbas captain Davis Chenge praised Uganda’s second half display in the Elgon Cup return leg  staged at the RFUEA Ground last Saturday.
Trailing 28-5 at the break in the match that also acted as a World Cup qualifier,the Rugby Cranes came back a much improved outfit as they conceded only 10 points while scoring 17.

“Credit to Uganda.They came back in the second half mentally prepared and looked sharper than us.Some of our players were a little bit tired but we managed to dig deep and got the resut we wanted,” Chenge said.
“Uganda has always been a tough opponent.They have always given us a hard time.We expected the game to be hard,but we were able to keep our heads,stay on top and win the game.”

Saturday’s 38-22 result saw Kenya retain the Elgon Cup with a 72-38 aggregate scoreline.
Kenya’s next assignment will be on 11 August when they host Tunisia in Nairobi starting 2:00pm.
