Oilers forward Javan Ateh returns from lengthy injury

Kenya Cup newbies Menengai Oilers have been boosted by the return of dependable forward Javan Ateh.
Ateh sustained an injury at the 2017 Prinsloo 7s, staying out of action for the entire 2017/18 KRU Championship as his side gained maiden promotion to the top tier.
The club’s head coach Gibson Weru revealed that the player has resumed training adding that he must work hard to find his way back into the side.
“He resumed training and he is doing well. So far he is 90 percent ready but we will continue monitoring him. He will now need to fight for a place in the squad since the competition for places is high,” Weru told Scrummage.
Oilers will make a debut appearance in the Kenya Cup that gets underway in September but before that, they will be seeking to replicate last year’s exploits during the National Sevens Circuit starting with Nakuru’s Prinsloo 7s.
