RUGBY AFRICA CUP

Namibia is a work in progress, says coach Phil Davies

An emphatic 118-0 win over Tunisia in the Africa Gold Cup on Saturday could suggest otherwise but Namibia boss Phil Davies believes that his young side is yet to hit their best.
The Welwistchias put 16 tries past Tunisia which sends them top of the six-team standings after match day two.
“They played well in the second half with the flowing passing game. I am still in the process of building a competitive team as most of these players are still very young,” Davies said in the post match interview.
With this year’s competition acting as a qualifying campaign to the Japan 2019 Rugby World Cup, the Welwistchias will be out to continue with their imperious form when they face Morocco in Casablanca on Saturday 30 June.
