Uganda match day 23 to face Namibia

Uganda have named a 23 man squad to take on defending champions Namibia in match day one of Africa Gold cup.
Kabras sugar’s Asuman Mugerwa will captain the side and he will be assisted by Justin Kimono in the right wing.Notable names missing include fullback Philip Wokorach who was left out after his involvement in Amsterdam 7s.
Eliphaz Emong and his Kabras counterpart Pius Ogena have also made the cut.Emong will partner Charles Uhuru in the second row with backrowers of the day being Author Mukama at eighth as Oketagot Byron and Brian Asaba being the blindside and open side flank respectively.
Uganda and Namibia have met four times with Namibia winning on three occasions while Uganda have only managed one win.The last time the two sides met was last year in Kampala where Namibia won 48-24.
Kenya harlequins half back Aaron Ofoiwroth will start at 9 partnering James Ijongat.Ian Mugeni and Pius Ogena will be the midfielders of the day.The likes of Lawrence Ssebuliba,Conrad Wanyama and second rower Robert Aziku are named as replacements.
