KSSSA 7s: Chavakali stuns St.Peters in Western Region to qualify for Nationals

Chavakali High School have been crowned Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) rugby 7s winners in Western region after stunning hosts St.Peters Mumias 12-7 in a thrilling final played this Thursday 14 June. 
With the win, Chavakali has booked a spot at next month’s National showpiece to be held in Eldoret.St.Peters Mumias will join them as the second team.
Chavakali underlined their title credentials early in the match after taking a 7-0 lead at half-time courtesy of a converted try by Felix Makokha.
Sudden death
William Muhanji of St.Peters would cut the deficit to two points as he crossed the chalk for a five pointer before Argwings Muhanji’s conversion drew the sides level forcing the match to be decided on sudden death.
Isaac Ouma ensured Chavakali return to the Nationals with a try in the early minutes of sudden death.
