KSSSA 7s: Chavakali runs riot to reach Western region finals, joined by St Peters

Chavakali High will feature in the finals of the Western Region secondary School Rugby 7s games after whipping Vihiga 40-0 in the first semifinal clash staged at St Peter’s Mumias Grounds.
Three converted tries saw the Vihiga County Champions lead by a 21-0 scoreline at the break. The side would add 19 more points in the final half to book a place in the finals. They have completed a double over Vihiga after having beaten them 19-5 in the county games finals.
Second Semifinal
In the second semifinals, Hosts St Peter’s eliminated Bungoma after 15-12 victory. Saints scored the opening try to take a 5-0 lead but a penalty try saw Bungoma lead 7-5. Libondo Shimenga’s boys would go over for the second try that handed them a slim lead at the break.
Saints added another try from the break to widen the gap to eight points while Bungoma cut the gap to three points with a try for a nervy ending.
Saints held on to win the clash.
