New captain for Kenya Cup side

Kenya Cup side Mwamba RFC has appointed centre Patrick Ruhiu as the club’s  captain for the 2018/19 season. 
The club made an announcement on Tuesday 12 June through it’s social media pages with their statement further adding that Ruhiu’s assistants will be named in due course.
Centre Patrick Ruhiu has been announced as the Stanbic Mwamba RFC’s captain for the 2018/2019 season.Ruhiz, as he is popularly known, takes over the leadership reins from last season’s captain Edwin Machanje. His assistants will be announced in due course,” the club’s statement reads in part.
“We have developed a number of strong leaders in this group, so Ruhiu will certainly not be shouldering the responsibility on his own, but we felt it important to appoint someone who the team can rally around,”Mwamba Director of Rugby Edwin Waita is quoted on the club’s portal.
“The decision was long and well thought and we believe that your character on and off the field embodies what the spirit of what Mwamba RFC stands for, and what will help the club transition to the next level,” Waita added.
Kulabu will be out for a much improved season in 15s having missed out on the playoffs in the past season.
But before that, they will have to deal with the National 7s circuit that bursts into life in July.
