#AsanteTall: Rugby fraternity reacts on Kayange’s retirement


Former Kenya 7s skipper Humphrey Kayange announced on Friday 1St June that he was retiring from the international scene with the rugby fraternity taking time to pay glowing tribute to the 35-year old as he bows out of the fray. 

Scrummage samples some of the social media messages of goodwill directed towards the 35-year old Olympian and 2016 Singapore 7s winner.

“Thank you @humphkj for your mentorship,leadership and contribution towards the sport we love. True servant of the sport,”Kenya 7s international Billy Odhiambo tweeted.

Former Kenya 7s flyhalf Lavin Asego through his Twitter account said: “The journeys we’ve walked together…the battles we’ve fought alongside each other. It was an honor.”

“Privileged to have taken photos of/with the living legend himself @humphkj & I hope to continue doing so in the future. Thanks for the outstanding performances while donning the Kenya jersey,” said Brian Ayieko.

“The Legend ,the Master of the game and mentor thanks for the memories and thanks for being a great ambassador of the annual Webuye10s,” Western Nationwide side Webuye RFC tweeted.

“What a man! What a player! It’s been a pleasure watching and working with you
@humphkj ! Wishing you the very best in your next phase,” tweeted Collins Nabiswa.
