First win for Kenya 7s in London

Kenya registered her first win at the ongoing London 7s after edging France 24-21 in a clash staged at the Twickenham stadium this Saturday 2 June.
Kenya scored through four tries and two conversions against three tries and two conversions by France.
Shujaa went into the clash looking for their first win after playing to a 19-all draw against USA in their opener on Saturday afternoon.
Innocent Simiyu’s charges will tackle England at 8:16pm in their final pool match.
Collins Injera opened the scoring for Kenya with an unconverted try after receiving an offload from Nelson Oyoo but the French would respond as they landed a try courtesy of Stephen Parez which was converted to take a 7-5 lead.
Great work by Jeffrey Oluoch on the left would set up Willy Ambaka for Kenya’s first converted try and second of the match.
Great interchange of passes between Andrew Amonde and Billy Odhiambo would see the latter hand Shujaa a converted try, taking a 19-7 advantage to the breather.
France would strike twice with two converted tries in succession to take a 21-19 lead but it was Kenya who had the final say as Injera raced from deep into his own half to land a five pointer, sealing a 24-21 win for Innocent Simiyu’s charges.
