Kenya Lionesses set sights on Dubai after conquering Africa

After guiding his charges to a maiden Africa Women’s 7s gong,Kenya Lionesses coach Kevin Wambua said that the side will now shift focus to the Women’s competition of the Dubai 7s slated for December.
The side put up a good showing in Gaborone, Botswana as they scored 30 tries and 17 conversions and conceded only two touch downs.
“It’s all about the legacy and  ticking the right boxes and now we want to do a de-brief;first with the technical team,”Wambua said after landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from Botswana.
“We  have to plan for Dubai where iam sure we will feature in the main competition of the HSBC 7s series. This is where our hard work will start and we know we must work much harder than we did at the Africa Women’s 7s tournament,”added Wambua.
By winning the Africa Women’s 7s, the Lionesses booked a ticket to next year’s Hong Kong 7s which will act as a qualifier to the HSBC World Women’s 7s series.
