Strathmore assessing injured quartet ahead of Sepetuka 7s

Strathmore Leos coach John Mbai says that they are assessing injured quartet of Gideon Makumi,Walter Oteku,John Oduk and Lucas Opal ahead of this weekend’s Sepetuka 7s in Eldoret.
According to Mbai,Oteku alongside Freeman Olang have groin issues with the other key players nursing different injuries.
“We are going to asses them;we have Oduk and Makumi out.We are also looking at Opal as well as Walter and Freeman who have groin issues.Hopefully they will be fit for Sepetuka 7s,” Mbai told Scrummage.
On their Prinsloo 7s perfomance, the tactician admitted that they did not fulfill their potential.
“It was a mixed perfomance.Things did not come together. The first game was pretty tight and close. Its a game we would have won when we were leading but things went against us when we were leading.”
“I think we let ourselves down but beating Kabras was a bonus. We are trying to blend in new blood and i think its taking longer than expected.”
Consistency
“There are some flashes of brilliance but we have to be consistent. The rookie mistakes we are making should be avoided and guys should learn very fast,” the former Mean Machine coach remarked.
