Kenya Simbas forward Chenge elated with Kampala win

Kenya Simbas backrower and skipper of the day Davis Chenge expressed his satisfaction with the side’s display in their 34-16 win over Uganda in the Elgon Cup first leg in Kampala.
Tries by KCB duo of Jacob Ojee and Oliver Mang’eni, Elkeans Musonye, Biko Adema and Leo Seje coupled by a hat-trick of conversions and a penalty by Darwin Mukidza were enough to hand Ian Snook a first win as Simbas coach.
“We are happy with the result, happy that we played for the win. We still made too many mistakes which can be costly. We know we need to work on that if we are to have a much better  season,” Chenge is quoted by the Kenya Rugby Union portal.
The Elgon Cup return leg which will act as an Africa Gold Cup fixture will be staged in Nairobi on 7 July.
