The Kenya Lionesses booked a spot in the quarter finals at the ongoing Africa Women’s 7s after edging Madagascar on Saturday 26 May in Gaborone, Botswana.
The side had earlier in the day annihilated Senegal 41-0 in a one sided affair.
To secure the win over Madagascar, Kevin Wambua’s charges managed six tries and six conversions while the South African side failed to register any points.
Janet Okello gathered the ball from kick off before racing over 50 metres to touch down between the sticks for a converted try.
A timely tackle by the Lionesses would deny Madagascar at the right hand corner before Lionesses scored a second converted try to take a commanding 14-0 lead.
Four more converted tries including a Brace by Camyllyne Awuor would seal the comfortable win for Lionesses who now head to Sunday’s quarter final as the best ranked side where they will face the eighth ranked team.
