Zimbabwe beaten by Bulls U19 in friendly duel

The Zimbabwe Sables went down 42-31 to the U19 team of South African side Vodacom Blue Bulls in a friendly tie staged in Pretoria on Tuesday 22 May. 
Zimbabwe is set to face an amalgamation of the Bulls senior side and the U23s in the second friendly on Friday 25 May at the Loftus Versfeld.
The side under the name “President’s XV” is on a seven-day Camp in South Africa as part of their preparations for the 2018 Africa Gold Cup that also acts as a qualifying campaign to the 2019 Rugby World Cup scheduled for Japan.
Zimbabwe will start their hunt for a place at the global showpiece with a home match against promoted side Morocco on Saturday 16 June at the Harare Sports Club.
They will then travel to Nairobi to face Kenya on 30 June before heading to Tunisia  a week later.
Peter De Villiers’ charges host Namibia on 4 August after which they wind up their campaign away to Uganda at the Legends grounds in Kampala on 18 August.
They will be seeking to secure World Cup qualification for the first time in 27 years, their last appearance being way back in 1991.
