New date, venue for Ngong-Eldoret playoff

The KRU Championship promotion/relegation playoff pitting Ngong Warriors against Eldoret RFC initially slated for Saturday 19 May will now be played in Nakuru on 26 May.
The Kibiko Secondary grounds in Ngong town had been earmarked to host the match but it was not played last Saturday due to what the Kenya Rugby Union Leagues and Fixtures committee termed as poor weather conditions that rendered the field unplayable.
“The Committee considered and concluded that the match was not played due to adverse weather conditions in the area. This qualifies as a reason for late postponement of the fixture.Considering the implications of the match, being a promotion, relegation match, the decision is made to postpone the match to 26.05.2018,” part of a communique by KRU reads.
Acting as the home side,Ngong Warriors will bear the costs of securing a match day ambulance for safety measures.
Ngong Warriors, placed ninth at the close of the 2017/18 KRU Championship season will be out to uphold their second tier status knowing very well that a loss against Eldoret will relegate them to the Nationwide.
Eldoret dropped to the playoffs after going down 35-0 to MMUST in Kakamega in the Nationwide semi final on 19 May.
