Kenya Simbas conclude Nanyuki camp, shift focus to Elgon Cup

Kenya’s national 15s side, Simbas concluded their three-day high altitude training camp in Nanyuki on Sunday 20 May. 
The side, under new coach Ian Snook and his assistant Murray Roulston now turns attention to the Elgon Cup 1st leg tie against Uganda Rugby Cranes in Kampala on Saturday 26 May.
The return leg that also serves as an Africa Gold Cup fixture will be played in Nairobi on 7 July.
Simbas are the Elgon Cup defending champions having won the 2017 edition with a 56-51 aggregate score.A 23-18 win in Kampala proved crucial as valiant Cranes forced a 33-all draw at the RFUEA grounds.
The match will serve as a perfect warm up for the 2018 Africa Gold Cup, set to double as a qualifying route to the 2019 Rugby World Cup slated for Japan.
Kenya’s first Africa Gold Cup fixture is an away tie against Morocco on Saturday 23 June.
