Championship bound Kitale RFC unfazed by financial challenges

After securing KRU Championship status, Kitale RFC coach Ben Amboko was impressed with his charges display despite the challenges facing the side off the pitch.
Amboko’s charges scored courtesy of two tries and a conversion to stun the Ngong Road outfitvat their own backyard.
“It was tough. We wanted the win so much and I must also point out that the officiating was extremely poor,”Amboko said.
“We have a dedicated squad with very committed individuals. We shall soldier own despite our financial constrains,”he added.
“Our journey to the final has been challenging off the pitch. For instance against  Kiambu RFC in the quarters, we were only able to afford to transport 14 players on a 14 seater van. I was the driver, coach and player,”Amboko concluded.
Kitale make the short trip to Kakamega on Saturday 19th May to face MMUST for Nationwide honours.
