Mwamba, Nakuru miss out in Kenya Simbas final squad for World Cup qualifiers

On Tuesday 8th May, Newly appointed Kenya Simbas head coach Ian Snook named his first squad since taking over the reigns at Kenya 15s. 
Snook’s 35-man squad is a blend of youth and experience with rookies like Xavier Kipng’etich and Edmund Anya having caught the eye of the New Zealander from two trial sessions conducted in 29th April and 6th May at the RFUEA grounds.
Back to back Kenya Cup champions KCB received the lion share as 11 members of the Ruaraka outfit were summoned.Among them is seasoned pair of Darwin Mukidza and Curtis Lilako with forward Nelson Nyandat having received his maiden call up.
Enterprise Cup champions Homeboyz have the likes of Mohammed Omollo,Zeden Marrow, Dalmus Chituyi and Max Kang’eri as the new call ups.
For Kenya Cup runners up Kabras Sugar, Coleman Were, Felix Ayange and Andrew Chogo received their maiden call ups.
Kenya U20 skipper Xavier Kipng’etich is the only debuntant from Impala Saracens while their Ngong Road neighbours Kenya Harlequins have Malcolm Onsando and Peter Misango.Former Kenya 7s flyhalf Biko Adema is the sole representative from Nondies.
Blak Blad, Mwamba and Nakuru RFC were overlooked by the Simbas technical bench as they have no single player in the squad.
The Simbas kick off their 2018 international season with the Elgon Cup tie against Uganda Rugby Cranes in Kampala on 26th May.The return leg on 7th July will double as an Africa Gold Cup fixture.
