Kitale out to dim Swara

Kitale will this weekend cover more than 500 miles in search of a historic win against the Nairobi region champions Swara RFC.It’s a do or die match for both sides as the winner books the ticket to compete in KRU Championship league 2018/2019 season.
Captain Brevian Barasa has been instrumental in leading the team through thick and thin and he is a happy man for the far they’ve come.He is aware of the threat their saturday’s opponents posses and he’s quick to point out.
“We expect a tough match from Swara being that they are the Nairobi region champions.We do respect them but we are also going to play at our best,” he told Scrummage.
Difficult conditions
The heavy downpour across the country in the recent weeks is also a key factor coming into this game and both sides should have device their mode of playing in the expected difficult conditions.
“Playing on a wet surface isn’t always easy but we have also been training in wet conditions and so we are equally prepared for the wet ball.Ball security and ball handling will be very vital. We are going to put our best foot forward, “concluded the captain.
Kitale will be relying on the skill set the captain possess at the half back role to bring them victory. The side will be banking on the likes of Rama Wafula,the hard carrying duo of Basil Simiyu and John Ng’ang’a and former Mwamba rugby ace Jeremy Chimwani who adds up as the side first choice kicker.
The other nationwide semifinals will see former Kenya Cup side Eldoret RFC travel to Kakamega to face MMUST.The winners will replace JKUAT and Moi University who were relegated at the close of the season.The losers of this tie will have a chance to redeem themselves as they will play UoE and Ngong in the ninth, tenth play off qualification.
