Menengai Oilers’ captain Harold Anduvate scooped two awards at the concluded 2017 Kabeberi 7s tournament after a stellar performance that saw the side reach the cup final where they lost to Impala.
Apart from being named the tournament’s top tries scorer,Aduvate also walked away with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award after guiding his side to the cup final.
Kabras RFC’s Philip Wokorach was also feted,as he was named the tournament’s top points scorer,an award which he shared with Shaban Ahmed of KCB who was winning the award for the second consecutive time after achieving a similar fete at last weekend’s Driftwood 7s in Mombasa.
Mwamba RFC’s Daniel Taabu was named the most promising player of the two-day tournament despite the fact that Kulabu failed to sparkle at their home tournament,loosing in the challenge trophy final.
Meanwhile,Philip Wokorach made the team of the tournament which was released by the Kenya Rugby Union at the conclusion of the tournament.Also in the team is Impala’s Ian Minjire and Alex Olaba of Strathmore.
