After claiming an emphatic win over Blak Blad in their first match of the day,Homeboyz RFC continued with their impressive form as they blew aside Western Bulls to qualify for cup quarters.
The Deejays ran in 7 tries against Western Bulls’ single try to win the contest 36-7.Paul Murunga’s charges now sit top of pool A going into the final round of fixtures.
Mwamba’s bad day in office continued after they were shocked 14-0 by Menengai Oilers,a loss which leaves their cup quarters hopes hanging.The Gibson Weru coached side managed two converted tries against the lucklustre Mwamba side.
Meanwhile,Blak Blad bounced back after loosing their first clash to draw 10-all against much fancied Nakuru RFC in a clash which both sides ran in two unconverted tries.
Sportpesa Quins also joined Homeboyz in the main cup last 8 after they comfortably dismissed championship side Resolution Kisii RFC 17-0 in their second match of the day.
After a shock loss to Machine in their first match,Impala Saracens bounced back with an emphatic 25-0 demolition of hosts Mombasa.Impala got onto the scoresheet courtesy of Paul Mutsami who helped himself to a brace,George Mabwa,Ian Minjire and Leon Adongo.
KCB enhanced their cup quarters chances after claiming a hard-fought 7-5 win against Mean Machine who had earlier in the day shocked Kenya Cup side Impala with the same scoreline.
Strathmore Leos managed to redeem themselves after they had lost their first match by seeing off KCA 29-0 while Kabras claimed a 17-0 win over Nondies to join Quins,Homeboyz and KCB in cup quarters.
