Quins coach wary of Mwamba threat ahead of Driftwood 7s showdown

When the Kenya Rugby Union conducted the 2017 Driftwood sevens draw, familiar foes SportPesa Quins and Mwamba RFC landed in the same pool together with championship side Menengai Oilers and Kenya Cup newcomers Resolution Kisii RFC.
For Quins coach,Joash Odhalo it will be a very intense battle when his side comes up against the Kevin Wambua- coached Mwamba.
Both sides are definitely not strangers to each other being among the oldest rugby clubs in the nation.
“For Driftwoods Quins is in one of the tougher pools and we are very aware of the 7s rivalry between us and Mwamba especially with both teams having celebrated Kenya 7s players,”Odhalo told Quins media

“Oilers have also come off an impressive 15s season and could be the bogey team in our pool.
-Kisii may look like the underdogs in this pool but always surprise us and they have individuals who can change games,” he added.
“We are out to top the pool and are not taking any game lightly as we are out to defend the trophy,”he reiterated.
Quins will kick off their Driftwood 7s defence campaign with a mid morning clash against Menengai Oilers before they take to the pitch for their second clash against Kisii RFC at 1:00pm.
They will wind up their group matches with a titanic duel against Mwamba later in the evening.
