Kenya Cup side Mwamba RFC has unveiled a special kit that is set to feature during the national 7s series that starts in September 2017 as part of commemorating the club’s 40th anniversary.
The kits jersey,designed by United Kingdom firm Samurai sportswear has unique features including a lion which symbolizes Africa’s rich heritage.
The jersey will also be accompanied by other match kits including shorts and socks.Mwamba’s main title sponsors Stanbic Bank,Modern Coast and Hall Mark Kenya all feature on the kit.
Speaking to Mwamba rugby, club president Alvas Onguru said, “As we mark our 40th anniversary, this special commemorative jersey represents everything that the Mwamba Rugby Football Club has stood for since our founding in 1977; Pride, Pedigree, Respect and Honour.”
“We hope that this jersey will stand as a reminder to our players, our fans and all our supporters, of where we have come from as a proud club of African origin- hence the symbolism of that most majestic of the Savannah’s animals and emblem of Kenya’s nationhood – But also, we hope that this special jersey points to the bold and ambitious future we envision for the club and for the Mwamba community,”He said.
He also assured fans of the availability of replicas in the coming days.
“And, to our fans and supporters, we will shortly be releasing a limited number of replicas of this beautiful 40th anniversary jersey. So keep your eyes peeled.”
Kulabu will be hoping to add another 7s title to the 4 that they currently boast of once the series kicks off in September.
