Its time we built a rugby facility! Kabras TM urges KRU

Kabras Team Manager and Former Kenya Rugby 7 and 15s star Philip Mwenesi has urged Kenya Rugby Union to lobby the National government to build a good rugby facility.
Kenya’s biggest 7s tournament Safari 7s has on several ocassion been hosted at Moi Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium due to large fan turn out. The large crowd has been witnessed in the recent Kenya 15s matches and the RFUEA grounds which has been the home ground seem to be too small to host the crowd.

Safari 7s will make a comeback to RFUEA Grounds this year and many rugby fans have the opinion that the facility wont accomodate a large numbers.
Mwenesi who has watched different editions of the competition believes that the Ngong road based facility has a better fan experience compared to Nyayo and Kasarani but the disadvantage is its standard.
“It is time that the union lobbied the government to build a proper rugby stadium, the fan experience at the RFUEA ground is super but the facility for visiting teams are not up to standard, he told KRU.
“Nyayo and Kasarani have the facility though they lack on fan experience since the stadium has a track thus the fans are far from the action, he added.
Kenya Rugby union is planning to host Kenya 15s matches outside Nairobi and the Kakamega, Kisumu, Nakuru and Machakos are some of the facilities earmarked for the plan.
