Uganda target Zimbabwe scalp as Africa Gold Cup reaches climax

Uganda Cranes will be seeking to end the Africa Gold Cup on a high note when they host Zimbabwe Sables at the Legends Rugby grounds in Kampala on Saturday August 5 2017.
Going into the clash,Uganda are assured of third spot while Zimbabwe lie in fourth spot.This implies that the Kampala clash will not carry a lot of significance but Uganda Cranes will be out to play for pride.
Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Cranes assistant captain Michael Wokorach and headcoach John Duncan revealed why they are targetting a win.
“We want to end the season on a high and we shall play our hearts out,”Wokorach said.
On his part,head coach John Duncan said that their priority will be to first win the clash and think about claiming the bonus point later.
“We have had a good season and we have been improving in every game.Our target will be to win the game and think about the bonus pount as the game goes on,”Duncan said.
Uganda go into the match off a heavy 48-24 loss at home to champions Namibia while Senegal lost 31-23 to Tunisia.
The other Africa Gold Cup clash of the day will be a relegation battle when Tunisia host Senegal at the Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet in Tunis.
Tunisia will be content to claim a draw while for Senegal,they must win the clash to avoid relegation and stay in contention for a slot in the Rugby World Cup in 2019.
Both matches will be aired live by regional broadcaster Kwese Sports.
