Championship side USIU Rugby is mourning the death of its Center Mike Ouma who passed on on Friday 4 August.
According to reports privy to the Scrummage the player fell two floors down while leaving a building with his friends. The player was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Ruaraka.
-It’s is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of one of our players, Mike Ouma who passed away today early morning, the club announced.

Here is a statement from the USIU Dean Paul Zeleka
It was with sadness and utter shock that I learnt of the death of our student Michael Ouma, a 4th year, International Relations major. The late Michael joined USIU-Africa in Fall of 2012, had just completed his degree requirements and was due to graduate this coming September.
The late Michael had an accident outside the University and was rushed to Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Michael Ouma will be fondly remembered by his classmates, faculty and the Rugby fraternity that he was so committed to. As tributes pour in from across the community, we are deeply moved to read accounts of people from all walks of life whose lives he touched. To many, he generously gave of his time to ease their concerns, celebrated their achievements and successes, motivated and inspired them.
On behalf of the entire USIU-Africa community, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Michael Ouma’s family, friends, colleagues and mentors.
More details on how we can support his family during this time of difficulty will be shared through the Dean of Students office.
Ouma has passed on only a week after another Kenyan rugby player,KCB RFC’s James Kilonzi passed on. Kilonzo was laid to rest Friday 4 in Machakos county.
