Wokorach handed start as Uganda unleash squad for Elgon cup duel

Kabras sugar dangerman Philip Wokorach has been named in the Uganda cranes starting line up that is set to host Kenya Simbas at the Legends rugby grounds in Kampala on Saturday 10th June 2017,in an Elgon cup first leg encounter.
Assistant coach coach Robert Sseguya has also included Kenyan based duo of Ivan Chirabo who is Wokorach’s teammate at Kabras as well as James Odong who plies his trade with Nondies. Uganda sevens international Lawrence Ssebuliba has also made the cut.It was good news to the likes of Adinan Mutebi, Aaron Ofoyrwoth and Robert Aziku who confirmed that they would feature for the senior team for the first time in their careers.
However, for other players like Ronald Musajjagulanyago, James Ijongat, John Wandicho and Ramathan Govule, the news wasn’t appealing at all as they were left out of the final 23 for the first leg of the Elgon Cup.
Among those who didn’t survive the sharp knife are former Rugby Cranes captain Mathias Ochwo, Gerald Ssewankambo, half back pairing of Kevin Makmot and Chris Lubanga, Ramathan Govule and James Ijongat.
Brian Odongo is set to captain the side as Marvin Odongo starts at eight.
