Oilers too good for Kenya Harlequins, Nakuru edge Blad

Menengai Oilers kicked off the 2021 Kenya Cup campaign in style, whipping Kenya Harlequins 39-13 in a match played in Nakuru on Saturday.

It was a similar score to what Quins suffered when they visited the Oilers in Nakuru exactly a year ago. Oilers ran six tries while their guest managed two tries in the defeat.  Quins’ tries all came in the first half, with Dennis Ambitho and Brian Oyando getting on the scoresheet while Evin Asena added a three-pointer.

For Oilers, Timothy Okwemba had a hattrick while Geoffrey Ominde, Steve Arunga and Substitute Emmanuel Mulla scored to hand Gibson Weru charges huge win.

At Nakuru Athletic Club, Nakuru held on a seven-point gap to beat visiting Blak Blad 13-8.
