Kenya Lionesses end bad run with win over Spain

Kenya Lionesses registered a 22-0 win over hosts Spain to bring to an end a series of bad results witnessed at the Madrid 7s Tournament.

Felix Oloo coached side headed to the clash having lost seven matches in a row in the competition. They would start off brilliantly against the Spaniard and beautiful support play saw Stella Wafula break to score the first try that Janet Okello converted.

Skipper Philadelphia Olando stretched the lead, picking and scoring off a ruck near the try-line to push the scores 12-0. The third try came from Christabel Olindo following a beautiful move off the scrum.

In the final half, Kenya managed one try. Okello produced a clean pair of heels racing from her on try box to the opponents try box to score. They would defend better to avoid conceding a try in the closing minutes of the clash.

Kenya Lionesses now have four points from two matches played and will be back in action on Sunday for the final matches of the competition.
