Strathmore announce arrival of speedster Brunson Madigu

KRU Championship side Strathmore Leos have confirmed the arrival of Brunson Madigu from Kenya Cup side Homeboyz Rugby.

The speedster joins Leos who are eyeing a return to Kenya Cup after one season in the second tier. Madigu ended the season as Homeboyz II Top Try scorer with 14 tries, scored seven conversions and three penalties.

He was also part of the 2019 National 7s Circuit squad which finished third in the campaign with 92 points. He scored over eight tries.

“We welcome Brunson Madigu to the Leo’s Family. Madigu an alumnus of Laiser Hill Academy and a former academy player with Impala Saracens, joins us from Homeboyz Rugby. He is a utility back player with an eye for the try line. Karibu 27!,” reads a statement by Strathmore.

Madigu links up with Ian Masheti who is also expected to feature for Leos having joined from Kenya Cup side Impala Saracens. Strathmore Leos are awaiting the winner of the quarterfinal match pitting USIU vs Northern Suburbs.

If they win the clash they will return to Kenya Cup after just a season of absence.
