Toulouse advanced to the Champions Cup semi-finals after seeing off Ulster 36-8 in a quarterfinal clash played at Stade Ernest Wallon on Sunday.
Chelsin Kolbe starred in the clash, scoring two of the five tries scored by Toulouse. The first try was scored inside the opening three minutes. Kolbe sidestepped past Jacob Stockdale and raced to score the first try. Thomas Ramos added three points nine minutes later for an 8-0 lead.
Kolbe returned to the scoresheet at the 38th minute, beating Stockdale once again to dot the second try that was converted by Ramos for a 15-3 lead at halftime.
The final half saw scrum-half Antoine Dupont, centre Pita Ahki score tries while fullback Ramos converted and added his try while Cooney scored Ulster’s consolation.
Toulouse will now face Exeter Chiefs who beat their English rivals the Northampton Saints 38-18 to earn a maiden Champions Cup semi-final sport.
South African, flank Jacques Vermeulen bagged a brace while Jack Nowell and Jonny Hill added more tries. Flawless kicks by skipper Joe Simmonds ensured the sides got two points from each of the tries. Teimana Harrison and Fraser Dingwall were Saints try-scorers.
Exeter and Toulouse will meet on Saturday 26.
